Guitar/Bass Instructor, Highlands Conservatory 2004-present

Provide individual guitar/bass instruction for students from elementary through high school age. Duties include preparation for twice-yearly recitals.

National Summer Guitar Workshop 2004 and 2006

Bass instructor for Belmont campus (Notre Dame de Namur University). Duties included classroom teaching, individual instruction, participation in faculty recitals and preparation for student concerts.


Performed with the Drifters as well as extensive freelance work throughout the Bay Area, including  numerous festivals (Monterey Blues, Gilroy Garlic), opening slots for artists like Joe Louis Walker and Charlie Musselwhite, and TV appearances (Channel 2 This Morning, Bruce Latimer Show).

Church of the Highlands Orchestra 2000-present

Performing up to six services a week on lead and bass guitar in styles ranging from rock to pop to big band to classical. Duties also include participation in special concerts, services and mentoring.

Songman Entertainment 2000-2002

Bassist with the “Jesse Charles Band” and “Mystic Pilots” providing entertainment for weddings and special events, street fairs and festivals.

MST Entertainment (Denver, CO) 1992-1995

Bassist for agency specializing in music for weddings, private parties and corporate events.



1989-1994 B.M.  in Commercial Music, University of Denver

Individual studies with Dr. Lou Fischer (Woody Herman, Charlie Byrd, NTSU One O’Clock Lab Band) on electric bass and John Arnesen (Colorado Symphony, Central City Opera) on acoustic bass.

Member of Lamont Jazz Ensemble (top big band) and Lamont Symphony, as well as various student combos. Also performed in musical productions such as Hansel and Gretel, Don Giovanni and Fiddler on the Roof.


Additional bass studies with Kai Eckhart (John McLaughlin, Billy Cobham, Berklee School of Music instructor) and guitar coaching  with Steve Erquiaga (Joe Henderson, Andy Narell, clinician for Jamey Aebersold).
